It’s been a long time coming, but HOSTEL 3 is reportedly ready to go. According to Bloody Disgusting, Sony Stage 6 (which has produced low-budget sequels to popular movies before; VACANCY 2 and THE GRUDGE 3 for example) has set Scott Spiegel to direct and Michael Weiss to pen the sequel, which will apparently head to Vegas where a bachelor party goes horribly wrong. No further details are given. (Maybe it’s sort of a “Hey, instead of a strip club let’s go mutilate someone” scenario.)

Spiegel is familiar with the world of HOSTEL, having produced the first and second films; he’s also a long-time Sam Raimi friend/collaborator, appearing in many of the director’s flicks. Weiss wrote THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT 2 and THE JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH 3D, as well as several low-budget monster movies.

Production will begin in August; Eli Roth will produce.
