Hulk’s Doc Samson?

JoBloJoBlo

While THE INCREDIBLE HULK is winding down capturing humans on film and getting ready to craft the digitized likeness of the green goliath, we’re still hearing casting news.

Apparently actor Ty Burrell is part of Louis Leterrier’s flick, playing the role of Dr. Leonard Samson, the film’s equivalent to Marvel comic hero and Hulk peripheral character Doc Samson. Burrell is perhaps best known as the selfish asshole from the DAWN OF THE DEAD remake, but he also appeared in the underappreciated DOWN IN THE VALLEY with new Hulk alter-ego Edward Norton.

In the comic, Samson is a psychiatrist whose exposure to gamma radiation gives him super strength and an exquisite mane of green hair (which the movie version is unlikely to sport). In the film, the Samson character has stepped in to keep the sheets warm for Betty Ross (Liv Tyler) while her former love Bruce Banner (Norton) is away trying to restrain his cranky side as he’s simultaneously hunted by General ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross (William Hurt) and special ops soldier Emil Blonksy (Tim Roth).
