Hulu places 10-episode order for Stephen King/J.J. Abrams series Castle Rock

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

Last week it was revealed that J.J. Abrams and Stephen King were working together on an anthology series for Hulu. Entitled, "Castle Rock", the series is said to weave together characters and themes from those novels that use the Castle Rock location, including the likes of Cujo, The Dark Half, It, Needful Things, The Body and The Shawshank Redemption. An ambitious project, for sure, but it looks like Hulu is biting as they've officially placed a 10-episode order for the first season.

While I've never sat down and read a Stephen King novel, his legacy speaks for itself. There are fans around every corner and it doesn't surprise me that J.J. Abrams would be interested in taking on a project this ambitious. King's previous effort with Hulu, 11.22.63, was decent for what is was, so I'm curious to see how well-received Castle Rock will be. Too bad it's on Hulu though…
