IFC Films announced this morning that they have picked up the distribution rights to the horror flick I SELL THE DEAD, starring Dominic Monaghan, Ron Perlman, Angus Scrimm, and Larry Fessenden.
And here I thought I SELL THE DEAD would never find distribution! Not because it doesn’t look good (cause it does), or because it doesn’t have an awesomely talented cast (cause it does), but because it’s not really a mainstream movie, and seems like somewhat of a hard sell to the masses. But what the hell do I know? Obviously, nothing, cause IFC picked it up with a quickness.
I SELL THE DEAD is now scheduled to hit limited theaters AND Video On Demand on August 14th, adding to an already full genre line-up for August which already includes FINAL DESTINATION: DEATH TRIP 3D, INGLORIOUS BASTERDS, and HALLOWEEN 2. Who know August was a good time for horror?
As recap, I SELL THE DEAD goes like this: body snatchers Arthur and Willie have pillaged their last grave. With just five hours before Arthur follows Willie to the chopping block, he recounts his life story to Friar Francis. It soon becomes clear that Blake and Grimes were no ordinary grave robbers. And through his stories the priest learns that not all corpses are equal.
