Inglourious in Aug

Why am I so excited for INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS? I’m not the biggest Quentin Tarantino fan. Hell my two favorite Tarantino flicks aren’t even ones he directed (TRUE ROMANCE & FROM DUSK TILL DAWN), but I guess the idea of that twisted bastard bringing us a vicious World War II movie sounds awesome to me!

Not to mention the fact that it stars Brad Pitt. Now I know Pitt has his fair share of tabloid problems… but the man is brilliant in every movie he’s in. I recently caught BURN AFTER READING and hope to catch THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON soon. So dare I say I have a bit of a man crush on Mr. Pitt. I dare. So the combination of Pitt and Tarantino scalping some Nazis has me giddy with excitement, nevermind the rest of the cast!

We’ve got Sam Jackson narrating with the film starring Diane Kruger (below), Eli Roth, BJ Novak, Mike Myers, Samm Levine, Til Schweiger, Cloris Leachman, and of course Mr. Brad Pitt. I’m pumped! Lately we’ve been getting BASTERDS stills here and there… and now we’ve finally got a release date!

INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS will cap off the potentially weak 2009 Summer on August 21st. Of course BASTERDS is shooting through production in hopes of being ready for the Cannes Film Festival. August is quite a ways away.. but I think it’s safe to say it’ll be worth the wait.
