Interview: Anthony “Ant-Man” Edwards and Kenny Smith Talk Hustle

Last Updated on June 14, 2022

Hustle is a fantastic film (read our review). The latest from Adam Sandler is a smart, funny, and touching story about a basketball scout who finds a player like no other. The Jeremiah Zagar directed feature offers us a side of Sandler that he rarely shows. Not only is he terrific, his co-star, Power Forward for Utah Jazz, Juancho Hernengomez, is excellent as well. The two create a dynamic on-screen chemistry that is impossible to resist. The Netflix feature also stars Queen Latifah, Robert Duvall, Ben Foster, and a number of real life legends of basketball. That includes the great Kenny Smith and Shooting Guard for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Anthony “Ant-Man” Edwards.

Having interviewed many an actor, one treat is getting the chance to talk with sports legends. So add that to the fact that I loved the movie they were involved in, and it was my first in-person interviews in a year-and-a-half! It was a special time. And getting to sit across from the great Mr. Kenny Smith, and Anthony Edwards was incredibly cool during our interview for Hustle. Considering the two know a whole lot more about basketball than I do, I asked about how close the film managed to capture the feel of being on the court. It was fantastic to chat with everyone we could from this excellent feature. And yes, I highly recommend you check out Hustle, currently available on Netflix.

Hope you enjoyed this interview with Anthony Edwards and Kenny Smith, and you can watch more interviews with folks from the people behind Hustle below.
