Less than an hour after arriving in Toronto to cover the film festival and picking up my press credentials, I made my way across town to participate in the DREDD 3D junket, which was due to premiere that evening as the kick-off to Midnight Madness. Sadly, I wasn’t able to see the film before conducting the interviews- meaning I had to wing it a bit.

Luckily, stars Karl Urban and Olivia Thirlby were friendly and easy to talk to, as they both seemed tremendously excited for the midnight screening- which they hoped would add more good buzz to a film already graced with good word of mouth from the fan community after playing Comic Con. We talked about their expectations for the film, possible sequels, and whether they were concerned with comparisons to the notorious 1995 Stallone-centric take on the character.
