Interview: Katie Featherston and Oren Peli of Paranormal Activity!

JoBloJoBlo

PARANORMAL ACTIVITY made a genre star out of Katie Featherston. Her performance as “Katie” in the original feature helped audiences connect to this woman living through a “reel life” nightmare. When she was terrified, we were terrified. Thankfully, she continued bringing her talent and charm to both PA2 and very briefly in PA3.

Recently, Ms. Featherston helped celebrate at the fan-centric premiere of PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 3 at the Arclight Cinemas in Hollywood, California. She was there to greet the fans and she even had time to chat with some press. Arrow in the Head/JoBlo.com was lucky enough to get the chance to chat with this talented actress about the PA phenomenon, and what it is like being a part of it.

What is really special about Katie is her complete respect for the fans. This respect is something that is clear, especially judging by the reaction she got when she appeared in the latest sequel. She is a true fan favorite, and I personally look forward to seeing her expand into other new and exciting opportunities.

OREN PELI

For somebody to place a camera in their bedroom, use no-name actors and a few visual tricks, Oren Peli has created a shockingly reliable franchise. From the early years of PARANORMAL ACTIVITY to it’s very successful sequel, it is not surprising that Peli would be part of a third – and possibly fourth – feature film. Especially since audiences seem to be hungry for more.

Mr. Peli, while not directing, continues to be a major part of the paranormal world he helped create. When it came to the recent release of PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 3, he seemed extremely excited for this particular chapter. While at the fan-centric premiere for the feature at the Arclight Cinemas in Hollywood, he seemed delighted to be there, especially talking about the latest feature film.

Like a proud father, Oren Peli helped bring a satisfied audience the second sequel in the film. Luckily, Arrow in the Head/JoBlo.com had the chance to chat with the filmmaker. He opened up about finding the right fit when it came to actors or a story that truly made sense. I’ll be looking forward to another chapter in this captivating and downright scary franchise.

PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 3 opens this Friday at a theatre near you.
