Interview: Mama star Jessica Chastain

Last Updated on July 23, 2021

On January 18th, Guillermo del Toro presents MAMA, a supernatural thriller that tells the haunting tale of two little girls who disappeared into the woods the day that their parents were killed. When they are rescued years later and begin a new life, they find that someone or something still wants to come tuck them in at night.

It had only been a few weeks since I last talked to Jessica Chastain; the actress had recently visited New York to promote ZERO DARK THIRTY, which she has since received an Oscar nomination and Golden Globe Award for. As she’s just about the nicest celebrity I have ever met, I was more than happy to chat with her once again. Safe to say, MAMA is about a 180-degree turn for the gentle stunner, who reveals a previously unseen dark and gritty side as a tough indie rocker who finds herself unwillingly burdened with two very unusual girls. Watch the interview below; I challenge you not to fall head over heels for her.
