INT: Rob Cohen

JoBloJoBlo

Rob Cohen is much different than you’d expect him to be. As a director, he started off with the small romantic film A SMALL CIRCLE OF FRIENDS with Karen Allen and Brad Davis back in 1980. Since then, he has taken his career to more fast and furious heights with… well, THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS and xXx, both with Vin Diesel. And now, he takes over Universal’s action franchise THE MUMMY: TOMB OF THE DRAGON EMPEROR. But when I met him, he seemed far from being a typical big budget, action filmmaker.

Before I sat down with Rob, I’d heard about his background in archaeology. And when I sat down, I found him to be incredibly smart and frankly, a whole lot deeper than my first impressions. He really is a genuinely cool dude, we even got to talk a little Allman Brothers before we started shooting. This is a man with a ton of history and intelligence behind him. And if you are looking for his contribution to the MUMMY franchise… you can check in out this Friday at a theatre near you.
