MobLand is back. And this second season is a wild one. The series stars Pierce Brosnan, Helen Mirren, and Tom Hardy. You can’t get much better than that. Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren are back as Conrad and Mauve Harrington. Yet the heart of this crime drama is seen through Harry Da Souza, played by Tom Hardy. Harry is loyal to a perhaps less-than-worthy family, as he struggles with his own relationship with his wife. Jan Da Souza is beautifully played by Joanne Froggatt.
The impressive cast also includes Paddy Considine, Lara Pulver, Mandeep Dhillon, Teddie Allen, and Anson Boon. We recently sat down to speak with the cast of this twisted new season, and it was a delight. First up, I spoke with Mr. Boon and Ms. Dhillon. And considering I’ve only seen the first four episodes, apparently it gets crazier for Mandeep’s Seraphina Harrigan going forward. And as for Anson Boon’s Eddie Harrigan, the actor teased that the continued season gets even more intense.
Finally, we spoke with Tom Hardy and Joanne Froggatt. Admittedly, I connected to Harry and Jan more than the other storylines. The two discussed their quieter moments and just how powerful they are. One scene in particular, during a couples therapy session, works beautifully, detailing a troubled marriage. The series offers characters that are well-written, and the excellent cast brings it to life. And frankly, it’s always fantastic speaking to Mr. Hardy, who, despite those numerous reports, seemed happy to promote season two.
