Interview: Wolf Like Me Stars Isla Fisher and Josh Gad

Peacock has a brand new series coming, one that is unexpectedly sweet, yet packs a massive punch. Wolf Like Me is an original work created by Abe Forsythe (Little Monsters). Starring Isla Fisher and Josh Gad, the series is part fantasy and part romance, with perhaps a slice of horror thrown in. Am I being vague? Yes I am. Simply because I’d hate to reveal too much. Perhaps the most straightforward description is two troubled people meet and find love, but there are secrets exposed. All I can say is I happily binged the entire first season in one setting and it blew me away. It’s a terrific story, with sublime performances from its leads.

It’s always an absolute joy to speak with the ridiculously talented Isla Fisher. She’s incredibly kind, and just a natural charmer. And then there is Josh Gad, who also happens to be an exceptional talent. The two opened up about taking on this project, but we had to keep some aspects hidden. And did I make Gad a little jealous when I praised Fisher’s amazing chemistry with pretty much anybody she works with? Probably not really, but he was such a terrific fellow that I’m happy to say I loved speaking to these two as much as I did watching them in this excellent series. I highly recommend giving this original show a watch when it premieres on Peacock on January 13th, you’ll be glad you did.
