Rumor: MCU’s Ironheart series will show glimpses of Mephisto’s demonic form

Mephisto is rumored to be a villain in the Disney+ Marvel series Ironheart, and we may see glimpses of his true demonic form

There has been a lot of fan speculation about Marvel Comics’ extra-dimensional demon character Mephisto showing up in a Marvel Cinematic Universe project. Many fans were sure Mephisto’s demonic mug was going to show up in WandaVision at some point… but that didn’t happen, so fans started wondering if he’ll be in the WandaVision spin-off Agatha: Coven of Chaos. It remains to be seen if that’s going to happen, but it sounds like we will see Mephisto in the Ironheart series. And it’s RUMORed that while we’ll primarily be seeing Mephisto in human form, there will be “glimpses” of his true demonic form.

Insider @CanWeGetToast claims (as reported by SuperHeroHype), “Mephisto will mostly be seen in his human form in Ironheart, while only giving GLIMPSES of his true form. Mephisto has The Hood stealing tech for him to build an advanced Bio-Suit in Ironheart.

Even extra-dimensional demons want to get in on that hi-tech Iron Man / Ironheart action. As described by Marvel, Mephisto is “a Hell-lord of temptation. Empowered by the souls of the damned, this demon strikes bargains with the living to collect residents for his hellish realm.

Dominique Thorne stars in Ironheart as Riri Williams, “a genius inventor who creates the most advanced suit of armor since Iron Man”. Thorne first played the character in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Anthony Ramos takes on the role of Parker Robbins/The Hood. Also in the cast are Manny Montana, Shakira Barrera, Alden Ehrenreich, Regan Aliyah, Shea Couleé, and Zoe Terakes. We’ve heard that Sacha Baron Cohen was in talks to play Mephisto, but his casting has never been officially confirmed.

Chinaka Hodge, whose previous credit include Snowpiercer and The Midnight Club, is the head writer on the series. Sam Bailey and Angela Barnes direct the episodes. Ryan Coogler, who was behind the Black Panther movies, is an executive producer on the show.

The six episodes of Ironheart aren’t expected to reach Disney+ until sometime in 2024.
