It was just a week ago that Alex hit you all with the news that Universal were moving forward with a remake fo the successful 1942 genre flick CAT PEOPLE. Actually… this thing has been bouncing around for a while now with things finally coming together it seems.
I say that because the guys over at FilmShaft had the opportunity to talk to WAKE WOOD director David Keating recently and Keating took it upon himself to bring up the CAT PEOPLE remake. Actually it was the final question of the interview. When asked if he ‘could make a dream Hammer film, an original idea, or a remake, what would that be and who would you cast,’ Keating responded:
“I’d like to do a Hammer remake of Cat People with Imogen Poots.”
Well that’s nice and random. Mind you unfortuantely this doesn’t mean the director is attached to the film, or even in talks, but it’s a nice little tidbit to toss around. And personally I agree with Keating that Imogen Poots (below) would fit pretty well with a CAT PEOPLE remake.
