We've known that Sony has had at least two GOOSEBUMPS projects in the works, with either one having the possibility of being the follow-up to the 2015 GOOSEBUMPS film. One of them, GOOSEBUMPS: SLAPPY'S REVENGE, would center on the evil ventriloquist dummy from the first movie, while the other, GOOSEBUMPS: HORRORLAND, would be set in

HorrorLand, a vast theme park which R.L. Stine describes as “the scariest place on Earth.”

A new report at Variety states that the studio is developing "multiple iterations based on the dozens of books in the series", implying there's even more than two future GOOSEBUMPS films in the works.

It hasn't been made clear which one is moving forward toward a scheduled October 12, 2018 release date (there is some indication that it's SLAPPY'S REVENGE), but whatever it is, Ari Sandel is attached to direct it and he is now assembling his cast.

Jack Black, who played Goosebumps author R.L. Stine and provided the voice of Slappy in the first movie, is set to return for the sequel, and joining him will be a quartet of child actors – JUMANJI: WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE's Madison Iseman; Ben O'Brien (MANCHESTER BY THE SEA); Caleel Harris, who was in the THINK LIKE A MAN films and will be seen in the upcoming Stephen King/JJ Abrams series Castle Rock; and Jeremy Ray Taylor, who played New Kids on the Block fan Ben in last year's hit Stephen King adaptation IT (pictured).

GOOSEBUMPS 2 (SLAPPY'S REVENGE? HORRORLAND? TBD) is being produced by Neal H. Moritz of Original Film and Deborah Forte of Silvertongue Films. Whatever the sequel is, it's

expected to focus on iconic characters and storylines featured in the “Goosebumps” series.
