According to the folks at Fangoria (who got the story from Variety), the Film Commission of Turin in Italy has set up the country’s first regional film fund, and for its first project, will make a four-film series entitled ITALIAN MASTERS OF HORROR, which was obviously inspired by Mick Garris’ MASTERS OF HORROR series on Showtime.
The names for the project have yet to be revealed (more details are expected in June), though expect veterans of Italian horror (Dario Argento, for one) to be on the list. Luciano Martino, who’s been producer on a number of his brother Sergio’s films (CASE OF THE SCORPION’S TAIL, ISLAND OF THE FISHMEN, for example) will also serve as one of the producers for the series. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, it seems. Hopefully we get more info on this in the near future.
