It’s all yours if you want it: new trailer for Dwayne Johnson’s Ballers

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

HBO needs a replacement for Entourage and Dwayne Johnson's new series Ballers looks like it could easily fill that void. Ballers, which comes to us from Steve Levinson, stars Johnson as a former football star by the name of Spencer Strasmore who mentors other current and former players in the business of football and living large. HBO has dropped another new trailer on us, and you can check it out below.

While I'm not entirely sure that Ballers is going to be my type of show, I do know that Dwayne Johnson has that certain magic charisma that gets me to watch anything he's in. Plus I like what I see with Rob Corddry partnership with Dwayne Johnson; there's some great potential for comedy there. Ballers also stars Omar Benson Miller, John David Washington, Donovan Carter, Troy Garity, Jazmyn Simon, and Arielle Kebble. Will you be checking the show out?

A synopsis for Ballers:

Looking at the lives of former and current football players, the show follows former superstar Spencer Strasmore (Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson) as he gets his life on track in retirement while mentoring other current and former players through the daily grind of the business of football.

Ballers begins its 10-episode debut season on June 21st, right after the season premiere of True Detective.
