Well folks we warned you it might be happening a couple weeks ago and today, thanks to The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision blog, we know for sure that none other than McG will be directing OUIJA for Universal and Platinum Dunes. Oh joy.

Truth be told I’m not really sure how I feel about this one… McG gets a lot of hate and I’ve got to admit, I can see why. But personally I don’t have anything against the guy. Am I glad he’s directing OUIJA? Not really. Then again the last we heard OUIJA was going to be more of a thriller/adventure flick rather than a straight out genre flick so maybe it’s right down McG’s alley. So what exactly is McG’s OUIJA going to bring us? Plot details are being kept under wraps but here’s what we do know:

Based on the classic Hasbro board game about conjuring up spirits of the dead, OUIJA is described as a four-quadrant supernatural adventure centering around a family, with influences from The Mummy and Indiana Jones.

See what I mean? Doesn’t exactly scream horror. No word when things will get rolling on OUIJA, which was penned by Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, but you can bet we’ll keep you updated once we hear more. So what do you guys think? You digging McG (above) and OUIJA? Be sure to hit us with your thoughts below!
