According to The Hollywood Reporter, WOLVERINE star and dancing queen Hugh Jackman has signed on to star in an adaptation of the upcoming graphic novel GHOSTROPOLIS through Disney and Jackman’s own Seed Productions.
Based on the graphic novel by Doug TenNapel, GHOSTROPOLIS goes a little something like this: the story centers on a man who works for the government’s Supernatural Immigration Task Force. His job is to send ghosts who have escaped into our world back to Ghostopolis. When a living boy accidentally is sent to the other side, the agent must team with a female ghost (and former flame) to bring him back.
I was diggin’ the sound of it, almost like a weird BEETLEJUICE style movie with the undead and whatnot, and maybe a dash of THE FRIGHTENERS thrown in for good measure, that is until the kid showed up. Then I remembered that this was a Disney flick, and BAM!… my hopes for this to be totally awesome flew out the window.
Then again, maybe the focus won’t be on the boy himself, and focus on the agents, like a different version of GHOSTBUSTERS or something. I guess I can dig that. Pllus, singing and dancing aside, I totally dig Jackman for the most part…the guy can be pretty badass when he wantst be.
Stick around for more on GHOSTROPOLIS as we hear it!
X-MEN trilogy and SWORDFISH co-star Halle Berry!
