Staying with the updates on the upcoming JJ Abrams produced TV pilot FRINGE, The Hollywood Reporter announced today that Joshua Jackson has been cast in the lead male role, teaming up with the FBI to hunt down some unexplained phenomena.
Being in high school in the mid to late 90s, Jackson will always be Posey from ‘Dawson’s Creek,’ so I actually take some mild comfort in the fact that he’s returning to the small screen. His character will play a high school drop out with an IQ of 190, who teams up with an FBI agent and his scientist dad on their weekly adventures.
With Abrams and his Bad Robot producing and Alex Graves directing, I can only imagine good things coming out of this show – and with $10M going into the pilot alone, there should be some serious action set pieces, or at least some wicked-cool effects to suck us in and blow us away.
FRINGE also stars Anna Torv, John Noble, Blair Brown, Lance Reddick, Kirk Acevedo, and Jasika Nicole, and is currently filming in Toronto. Keep it here for more FRINGE updates, and to get your Posey groove-on, you can check out Jackson in SHUTTER, hitting theaters March 21st.
