James Franco assembles a stellar cast in the trailer for In Dubious Battle

In the California apple country, nine hundred migratory workers rise up (wait for it) in dubious battle against the landowners. The group takes on a life of its own – stronger than its individual members and more frightening. Led by the doomed Jim Nolan (Nat Wolff), the strike is founded on his tragic idealism – the courage never to submit or yield. Published in 1936, IN DUBIOUS BATTLE is considered the first major work of author John Steinbeck, and you can check out the trailer for James Franco's adaptation below!

James Franco is well-known for his antics in front of the camera, but you may surprised to see how busy the man is behind the camera as well. Granted, they might not be the most well-known films, but Franco has dozens of directorial efforts under his belt already. IN DUBIOUS BATTLE seems like it would be more at home with a straight-to-television release, but I respect Franco for taking on the project and assembling a solid ensemble. We'll see how the end product fares come this March!

IN DUBIOUS BATTLE will hit Blu-ray/DVD on March 21, 2017.
