James McAvoy unleashes the beast in this trailer for Shyamalan’s Split

Though Kevin (James McAvoy) has evidenced 23 personalities – each with unique physical attributes – to his trusted psychiatrist, Dr. Fletcher (Betty Buckley), there remains one still submerged who is set to materialize and dominate all the others. Compelled to abduct three teenage girls led by the willful, observant Casey (Anya Taylor-Joy), Kevin reaches a war for survival among all of those contained within him – as well as everyone around him – as the walls between his compartments shatter apart.

As ridiculous as the premise is, for this man to actually turn himself into some sort of beast (at least I hope they go this route), I love the actors involved. McAvoy has shown us he can do crazy with the likes of FILTH, and Anya Taylor-Joy absolutely killed it in last year's THE WITCH. Shyamalan may not be crafting audience favorites these days, but as far as B-movie fare goes, SPLIT looks like it could be a lot of fun!

SPLIT opens in theaters on January 20, 2017.
