James Wan’s Malignant called “brave” and “genre-bending” by cast

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

In an interview with THR, actress Annabelle Wallis talked effusively about her upcoming horror film MALIGNANT from wunderkind director James Wan – which was supposed to be coming out now, but had to push its release date back due to Covid. Here's some choice quotes:

I think we have something very special. I think it’s genre-bending. I think it’s so brave. It’s so original. I just haven’t read anything like it…I think it’s really going to be something that audiences are pretty wowed by because it’s a real passion project for him.

And you know, again, I’m at a place in my life and my career where it’s time to be brave. It’s time to push. And I think it’s really going to be something that audiences are pretty wowed by because it’s a real passion project for him. So, I’m very excited. Yeah, let’s see! That’s what good art and good cinema is

Unfortunately, there's currently not much known about that the film at this time, only that it's "an original thriller not based on any existing IP, we’re told that the film is going to be part of the Giallo sub-genre." Sounds intriguing!

Meanwhile MALIGNANT – directed by James Wan and also starring Maddie Hasson, Mckenna Grace, Jake Abel, George Young, Ingrid Bisu, Michole Briana White and Jacqueline McKenzie. – currently has no release date…but we'll keep you updated!

So what do you guys think? Fans of Wan? If so, what do you think about MALIGNANT? Either way, sound off below!
