Jared Leto was one of the (many) actors Marvel was considering for Doctor Strange, but while Benedict Cumberbatch will more than likely be playing the Sorcerer Supreme (When are we going to get an official announcement Marvel?), Leto still might end up landing a role in a comic book movie.

Sources have told The Wrap Jared Leto is being eyed to play The Joker in David Ayer's SUICIDE SQUAD. Apparently Warner Bros. originally wanted Ryan Gosling for the part, however he didn't want to sign a multi-picture deal, and now the studio is interested in Leto for The Joker.

The original SUICIDE SQUAD script from Justin Marks didn't feature The Joker, but it's assumed David Ayer will be doing a rewrite, and the rumor is the character will appear in Ayer's version of the screenplay. Since Warner Bros. might be looking at Cara Delevingne to play Harley Quinn, perhaps there is a chance The Joker will be in the upcoming film. Does this rumor put a smile on your face, or is there a different actor you'd rather see play The Joker in SUICIDE SQUAD?

SUICIDE SQUAD is set to open on August 5, 2016.
