In a new film from Simon West (THE EXPENDABLES 2, THE MECHANIC), Jason Statham plays Nick Wild, a Las Vegas bodyguard with lethal professional skills and a gambling problem. When a friend of his is beaten by a sadistic thug, he seeks revenge, only to find out the thug is the son of a powerful mob boss. As you can imagine, nothing good ever comes from messing with the mob boss' son, so Nick finds himself in a world of hurt. The international trailer that hit last week was a nice mash-up of action, but this U.S. trailer gives us a little more in the way of story.

As I've said with the last trailer, this flick looks like it has the potential to be one of the most fun Statham vehicles in years. Screenwriter William Goldman (THE PRINCESS BRIDE, MARATHON MAN) is no doubt to thank for that. With the arrival of the latest trailer for Micheal Mann's BLACKHAT, and now this picture, January may turn out to be quite the month for charismatic leading men taking out the proverbial trash. Toss a couple one-liners my way and sign me up!

WILD CARD will see a theatrical and on-demand release on January 30, 2015.
