Genre favorite Derek Mears (above), best known for portraying Jason Voorhees in FRIDAY THE 13TH, has reportedly been cast in HANSEL AND GRETEL: WITCH HUNTERS, along with Thomas Mann. They join the previously announced Gemma Arterton (below), Jeremy Renner, Famke Janssen, Peter Stormare and Ingrid Bolsø Berdal.
The film chronicles the fairy-tale siblings 15 years after their traumatic gingerbread house incident, which provoked them to become witch bounty hunters.

The horror-themed take on the classic Brothers Grimm fairy tale is directed by Tommy Wirkola (DEAD SNOW), who co-wrote the script with D.W. Harper. Will Ferrell is among the producers. It is scheduled for a March 2, 2012 release in 3D via Paramount.
