Jaws Blu-ray finally ready to surface in Summer 2012?!

JAWS on Blu-ray. It’s a must have; as desired as the Ark of the Covenant itself, a no-brainer for disc collectors everywhere… But where is it? Taking its sweet time making itself available to the masses, the tease.

Well, if we’re to believe a tip received by The Digital Bits, the wait is going to get a little shorter. (Not short enough mind you, but at least there seems to be some hope on the horizon.) The site has it on good authority that Universal has tentatively scheduled JAWS on Blu to hit stores AUGUST 14, 2012. That’d be a nice way to sit out the dog days of summer, wouldn’t you agree?

Furthermore, the studio apparently plans to simultaneously release “some” of the JAWS sequels on that same day – perhaps even a 3D Blu-ray edition of JAWS 3. Not sure how excited you can get over that, but hey, if you love good cheese, those latter two sequels are required owning.

Of course, we’ll let you know the full details when they come in. For now, let’s keep our fins crossed that we’ll finally get one of the greatest movies of all time on the best format available next summer.
