Jeff Goldblum to get all up in your jazz with debut LP on the way

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Hollywood is full of creative individuals, though few appear to be the human swiss army knife of talent that is JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM actor Jeff Goldblum. Over the past few years, Goldblum has emerged as a celebrity that's hip across generations, with fans seemingly unable to get enough of his good-spirited antics. Whether he's the subject of the latest meme, operating a food truck that serves delicious treats, or starring in the next theatrical barn burner, it would appear as if everything is coming up Goldblum for the man who has dazzled moviegoers since the mid-70s.

Today, we've learned via Pitchfork that Goldblum is making plans to release his very first album, courtesy of Decca Records Lable Group. In talking about the release, Goldblum said, “I’m so happy to be in cahoots with the wonderful people at Decca, one of the coolest and most prestigious labels of all time.” Details surrounding the album are unknown at this time.

When asked for comment about the upcoming record, Tom Lewis, director of A&R for Decca said, “As far as I can tell, everyone loves Jeff Goldblum. It’s like a universal truth." He then added, “His love of jazz is infectious and whenever he plays he makes you feel very happy. If we can take Jeff’s music into people’s homes then we will be helping, in our own small way, to make the world a happier place.”

It's to be noted that Goldblum is already an accomplished pianist, and that he'll be entering the album arena as a seasoned player, so to speak. In the past, Goldblum has performed with jazz singer Gregory Potter on The Graham Norton Show (video below), and has performed live with his own ensemble, the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra. He's also a demon on the keys. Go ahead, watch the video of his performance.

Jazz will, uh … find a way, sometime soon. Be sure to check back here for details on when you can get a taste of some of Jeff Goldblum's delicious ear candy, once the album receives an official release date.
