Well folks it seems TRUE GRIT’s Halee Steinfeld is no longer the frontrunner for Gary Ross’ adaptation of young adult novel THE HUNGER GAMES, or so says The Hollywood Reporter.
Apparently Academy Award nominee Jennifer Lawrence is now leading the pack. Supposedly the studio are huge fans of Lawrence and have now placed her at the top of the list to star in the film as ‘Katniss Everdeen,’ though no official offers have been made. I’m sure it’s just a matter of time though. So what says you guys? You down for Lawrence to star in this thing or were you hoping for someone else?
In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. Each year, the districts are forced by the Capitol to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the Hunger Games, a brutal and terrifying fight to the death – televised for all of Panem to see.
THE HUNGER GAMES already has a release date pegged for March 23, 2012. Hopefully we’ll find out soon who gets the nod for the HUNGER GAMES lead soon. As always as soon as we hear more we’ll be sure to pass the good word along to all of you.
