A wise man, that Jeremy Irons…dude knows when to judge a film by its title!

By that mean Mr. Irons (above) has just joined the cast of BEAUTIFUL CREATURES, Richard LaGravenese’s romantic-horror picture starring Emmy Rossum, Viola Davis and Emma Thompson. You think Irons saw all the fine ladies already onboard and immediately said yes to the project? Or maybe he just as a good-relationship with Showtime pal Rossum. Either way, Irons is set to bring a whole lot of testosterone to an estrogen-fuelled set.

Also featuring Thomas Mann, Jack O’Connell and Alice Englert:

BEAUTIFUL CREATURES is set in the South about two star-crossed teenage lovers – a local boy (O’Connell), and a mysterious new girl (Englert) who uncover dark secrets about their families, their history and their town.

Irons will play the role of Macon Ravenwood, Lena’s mysterious and recluse uncle.

Nice, Irons as a recluse uncle sounds about amusing as one can get. I’m loving it.

BEAUTIFUL CREATURES drops February 1, 2013.

I love me some Emmy Rossum!
