Jesse McCartney has been cast in Fox’s “Locke & Key.” He will play Ty, the oldest of the Locke children; a role which is considered the male lead on the show. McCartney has previously appeared on such shows as “Greek” and “All My Children” and voiced Theodore in the ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS movies. Here is the series’ plot:
After the murder of their father, Tyler, Kinsey, and Bode Locke relocate with their mother to the family estate of Keyhouse, located in Lovecraft, Massachusetts. Sam Lesser, one of the teens who murdered Mr. Locke, is in a juvenile detention center and, by gazing in water, communicates with a supernatural force that promises to free him. Bode Locke, the youngest of the family, uncovers The Ghost Door, which separates his spirit from his body.
McCartney may be able to show off his musical talents with the role, as his character was the closest with his father and carries a special guilt for his death. He isolates himself a bit by retreating into his music. McCartney will star alongside Miranda Otto (below), Sarah Bolger, Nick Stahl and Skylar Gaertner.
The supernatural drama comes from 20th TV, Kurtzman/Orci and DreamWorks TV and is based on the Joe Hill’s comic series of the same name. Mark Romanek (ONE HOUR PHOTO) will direct the pilot. Fox has yet to announce a premiere date.
