Jimmy Kimmel Live books top-tier talent to host show in his absence

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Due to the postponement of Jimmy Kimmel and wife Molly McNearney's son's heart surgery, the late night funnyman is adding a list of top-tier celebrities as guest hosts for this week's round of shows. Getting the party started will be legendary basketball player and hilarious cat meme superstar Shaquille O’Neal, who will host Monday night's lineup. After Shaq's turn on the program, musician Dave Grohl (Nirvana, Foo Fighters) will take over. As the week progresses, actos Channing Tatum and Jennifer Lawrence will also have a turn to host the popular late-night entertainment gig.

Naturally, each celebrity host will be expected to entertain a celebrity of their very own, which will hopefully lead to some great on-screen chemistry throughout the week. Scheduled to appear this week are the following guests: Shaq will host Mila Kunis, while Dave Grohl will share a chin-wag with rock 'n roll shock-rocker Alice Cooper. Channing Tatum will sit down with Ellen DeGeneres, and finally, Jennifer Lawrence will facilitate an exchange with Kim Kardashian. Kimmel is expected to make his return to the program the following week.

We here at JoBlo wish the Kimmels the very best of luck with their son's surgery and recovery. As someone who's had two open-heart surgeries in the past, I can't help but feel invested in the tike's journey. You've got this, little dude.
