JoBlo Horror 4K Hits 1 MILLION Subscribers on YouTube!

We’ve got some pretty damn cool news to share today: JoBlo Horror 4K has officially crossed the 1 MILLION subscriber mark on YouTube!

That is a major milestone for any channel, but it feels especially big for a horror-focused one. YouTube isn’t exactly hurting for movie channels. Clip channels are everywhere. And plenty of others just chase whatever happens to be trending that week. But horror-centric channels that manage to break the 1 million subscriber mark? That’s a much smaller club. Horror has always had one of the most loyal fanbases. Yet, it’s still a genre that usually has to fight a little harder for mainstream respect. In fact, a year ago when the JoBlo Superheroes Channel hit 2 MILLION, we were sitting comfortably at 500K! So, seeing our channel hit this number less than a year later is something we’re not taking lightly.

Before it became JoBlo Horror 4K, the channel was JoBlo Horror Videos, admined by John “The Arrow” Fallon. The goal was always pretty simple: give horror fans a place to watch the stuff they actually wanted. Not just the obvious classics, either. The slashers, sequels, remakes, and random horror moments that stick in your brain for years.  When I came on board several years ago, one of my first big gigs was taking over the channel, with The Arrow himself imparting his wisdom onto me before I ran with it. I’ve stuck with it ever since. And of course, we bring you the latest trailers and clips from horror yet to come.

Eventually, the channel evolved into JoBlo Horror 4K, bringing old grainy footage from movies you probably forgot about into “gore”ious 4K. There’s something pretty sweet about seeing a trailer or clip from some late-night cable discovery cleaned up and given new life. The kind of movie you half-remember watching on HBO, Cinemax, or from a video store rental suddenly looks sharper than it ever did back then.

That’s always been one of the best parts of covering horror. Of course, we all love the heavy-hitters and franchises. But a lot of us grew up in video stores and on HBO and Cinemax late at night watching random-ass movies like Night of the Demons 2, Ice Cream Man, Brainscan, and Rumpelstiltskin. Horror fans remember that stuff. We defend the messy sequels, the weird villains, hilarious practical effects, and the movies everyone else forgot.

This also feels like a good time to shout out JoBlo Horror Originals. That channel helped keep the horror side of JoBlo strong for years!

So to everyone who has watched, subscribed, commented, shared a video, requested more clips, or disappeared into a late-night horror rabbit hole on the channel, thank you. Seriously.

A huge thanks as well to the writers, editors, teams, and partners for all the hard work behind the scenes. And lastly, a huge Stone Cold Steve Austin “Hell Yea” to you, the horror fans, who helped build JoBlo Horror 4K into what it is now. It’s great being a part of the JoBlo YouTube Network which, since it’s humble beginnings in 2011, now has 17 channels, 22 million subscribers, and 18 BILLION views.

There are still plenty of classics, cult favorites, monsters, slashers, forgotten sequels, practical effects showcases, supernatural freak-outs, and modern nightmares left to celebrate.

So, keep watching. Keep subscribing. Keep the horror love going.
