Earlier today we shared Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross' version of John Carpenter's classic theme from HALLOWEEN and now we have news from the master himself on how he plans to handle the upcoming sequel's music.
Carpenter recently sat down with Billboard to talk about his revamped musical career and eventually the conversation turned to the director/composer's contribution to Blumhouse's HALLOWEEN.
Specifically, Carpenter was asked if he planned to update the original music or create something entirely new. And Carpenter said it may end up being a bit of both.
John Carpenter on scoring Blumhouse's HALLOWEEN:
There are many options. I'll be consulting with the director to see what he feels. I could create a new score, we could update the old score and amplify it, or we could combine those two things. I'll have to see the movie to see what it requires.
F*cking cool! I'd love to see an all-new John Carpenter score used in the upcoming HALLOWEEN sequel. But only as long as the classic theme showed up for Michael Myers' or Laurie Strode's "hero" moments.
