No worries! John Carpenter plans to direct another horror movie

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Back in 2010, John Carpenter directed a movie called THE WARD starring Amber Heard, Danielle Panabaker, Lyndsy Fonseca, and Jared Harris. Since then the man hasn't directed a new horror movie. Will he ever? Turns out he fully plans to as he just said:

I don’t have one scheduled but I’m working on things. I made a lot of movies and I got burned out and I had to stop for a while. I have to have a life. Circumstance would have to be correct for me to do it again. I’d love to make a little horror film that would be great or a big adventure film. It would be a project that I like that’s budgeted correctly. Nowadays they make these young directors do movie for $2 million when the movie is written for $10 million. So you have to squeeze it all in there and I don’t want to do that anymore.

THE WARD began when

Kristen is committed to a psychiatric unit where it seems an angry spirit of a former patient is haunting the girls who are being treated there. Kristen makes desperate escape attempts after the staff ignore her warnings about the spirit.

The flick was directed by Carpenter from a script by Michael and Shawn Rasmussen. Doug Mankoff, Peter Block, Mike Marcus, and Andrew Spaulding produced and the flick starred Amber Heard, Mamie Gummer, Danielle Panabaker, Laura-Leigh, Lyndsy Fonseca, Mika Boorem, and Jared Harris.
