John Krasinski is best known for playing Jim Halpert on all nine seasons of NBC's The Office, but he's on his way to becoming a bona fide movie star. He held a major role in the Bradley Cooper flick ALOHA last year, and took a shot at action hero stardom in the Michael Bay flick 13 HOURS: THE SECRET SOLDIERS OF BENGHAZI.

Neither of those films were huge hits, but Krasinski is currently in early talks to board the J. J. Abrams produced sci-fi thriller GOD PARTICLE, to be directed by Julius Onah. If he joins the cast, he will be playing an astronaut. And if this movie makes as big a splash as 10 CLOVERFIELD LANE (the inspiration behind GOD PARTICLE's green light), he'll be well on his way to a career resurgence.

GOD PARTICLE:

takes place in the near future. It centers on a team of astronauts who make a terrifying discovery that challenges all they know about the fabric of reality, as they desperately fight for their survival.

GOD PARTICLE already features David Oyelowo (SELMA) and Gugu Mbatha-Raw (BEYOND THE LIGHTS). The film is set to hit theaters on February 24, 2017.
