John Malkovich is a cruel bastard in this new Jonah Hex clip

Yesterday saw the debut of a new JONAH HEX clip entitled “A Face Like That”. It was pretty meh in my opinion, showcasing some bland fisticuffs and performances, causing my already puny excitement level for this flick to sink a bit further. In an effort to combat my ennui regarding HEX, MTV has slapped up their own clip from the film, which you can peep below. It doesn’t appease me much, but it’s acceptable, the sort of stuff you’ve seen in a dozen westerns and revenge flicks alike. The old “bad guy kills the hero’s family in front of him” routine. Still works – and John Malkovich can play evil in his sleep.

JONAH HEX is coming out this Friday, and the buzz isn’t very good. Adding to that is the fact that it’s 82 minutes long. Yes, 1 hour and 22 minutes total. That’s a running time usually reserved for bad comedies and cheap horror flicks, not potential summer blockbusters. (Hey, who knows, might turn out to be a blessing.)

As if you didn’t know, JONAH HEX stars Josh Brolin, Malkovich, Megan Fox, Michael Shannon, Will Arnett, Julia Jones and Michael Fassbinder; it was directed by Jimmy Hayward.
