Joker’s message

Joker

For a couple of weeks, we were following the slow deterioration of the Joker’s carved pumpkin, which turned out to be a countdown to today — Halloween — when the Clown Prince revealed his latest plot: a scavenger hunt that ultimately revealed a message. “THE ONLY SENSIBLE WAY TO LIVE IN THIS WORLD IS WITHOUT RULES.” Oh, that zany anarchist!

But wait — this early promotional gimmick for THE DARK KNIGHT isn’t just Joker’s mission statement. If you visit the site and click the corner, you’ll see a glimpse of Batman’s nemesis being chauffeured about town (apparently by Dollarhyde from MANHUNTER). And clicking THAT brings you to yet another tie-in site. Those hoping to catch a look at Harvey Dent’s ugly side might be disappointed after the half-rotten pumpkin implied we might see him, but there’s still more than half a year to go before the movie hits…
