It has been confirmed that TREMORS 5: BLOODLINES and TREMORS: A COLD DAY IN HELL co-star Jamie Kennedy has chosen not to join franchise hero Michael Gross in the cast of the upcoming sequel TREMORS: ISLAND FURY, and we know that Gross was disappointed by Kennedy's decision because a storyline had been planned about Kennedy's character Travis B. Welker.
But to make sure we don't get hung up on thinking of who won't be in the movie, Gross has went ahead and let us know who will be in the movie. Gross will be reprising the role of survivalist Burt Gummer again, and he posted an image on Instagram that revealed the identities of fourteen of his TREMORS: ISLAND FURY co-stars.
First up is NAPOLEON DYNAMITE himself, Jon Heder. I'm assuming Heder will be replacing Kennedy's Travis as Burt's comedic sidekick. Heder's character is named Jimmy.
Next up is Rob Zombie's 31 and THREE FROM HELL star Richard Brake as a fellow named Bill. It should be pretty cool to see this new genre icon sharing the screen with Burt Gummer and Graboids.
Fourth on the cast list might not be a well known name, but Caroline Langrishe, who will be playing a character named Jas, is a prolific British actress who has earned 80 screen credits in her 40+ year career.
The top five is rounded out by Jackie Cruz as Freddie. Orange Is the New Black viewers know Cruz as Flaca, a character she played in all seven seasons.
Also in the cast are Cassie Clare as Anna, Sahajak Boonthanakit as Mr. Bowtie, Matthew Douglas as Dr. Richards, Randy Kalsi as Wall Street, Bear Williams as Mohawk, David Asavanond as Pretty Boy, Boonma Lamphon as Ishimon, Aukrawut Rojaunawat as Parkour Boy, Iris Park as Researcher Iris, and Mikey Black as Researcher Mikey. Owen Macrae was listed as Burt's double.
BLOODLINES and A COLD DAY IN HELL director Don Michael Paul will be directing TREMORS: ISLAND FURY, working from a screenplay written by Brian Brightly. In this one,
the deadly Graboids are back, illegally brought in to a new island resort by a rich playboy looking for a trophy hunt.
Filming begins in Thailand this month.
All six previous TREMORS movies can be purchased in this collection. Completists will also want to pick up the episodes of the 2003 TV series.
