Jordan Peele Oscars Academy Awards

Nearly a year has passed since it was first announced that GET OUT writer/director Jordan Peele (that's him accepting the Oscar he won for writing that film in the image above) would be producing a reboot of the classic television anthology series The Twilight Zone, and with production expected to begin soon Peele has now released a short teaser for his version of the show – a teaser that reveals he will also be hosting this Twilight Zone, following in the footsteps of the original show's writer/producer Rod Serling.

Peele had this to say about taking over the hosting and narrating duties:

Rod Serling was an uncompromising visionary who not only shed light on social issues of his time, but prophesied issues of ours. I'm honored to carry on his legacy to a new generation of audiences as the gatekeeper of The Twilight Zone."

Peele's The Twilight Zone will be premiering on CBS All Access in 2019. Executive produced by Simon Kinberg and Marco Ramirez, the first season of the show will consist of 10 episodes.

The original Twilight Zone was

the brainchild of Emmy Award-winner Rod Serling, who served as host and wrote over 80 episodes of the original show's 150-plus episode run. It's a strange mix of horror, science-fiction, drama, comedy and superstition. Serling introduced each episode, and many of the black and white hours concluded with a surprise ending. Actors such as Burt Reynolds, Roddy McDowell and Robert Redford made appearances in some of the more well-known stories.

To get an idea of how Peele's narration will sound, check out the teaser (where his voice is accompanied by temporary graphics) below. Also, be sure to check out our list of 10 episodes it would be interesting to see Peele remake HERE.
