Now whenever an actor or actress talks highly of a film they’re starring in, you obviously have to take it with a grain of salt. Think about it – what working actor would openly bad mouth a flick they’re starring in? Not many. So whenever someone starts gushing about a project they’ve got coming I always keep my guard up.

But alas there’s a chance the person’s words might actually hold some truth to them. I’m hoping that’s the case with the latest talk coming out about Kimberly Peirce’s CARRIE reboot, this time from star Judy Greer.

Greer, who plays ‘Mrs. Desjardin’ in the flick, had the following to say to E! Online in regards to the infamous prom scene and star Chloe Moretz’s performance:

“Weirdly, it’s [the prom scene] kind of beautiful. It’s really totally jarring and creepy but also in a strange way gorgeous.”

“Chloë’s performance—and this is literal—has brought me to tears on set. She’s made me cry because I find her performance to be incredibly moving. I’m feeling a lot of compassion for her.”

She even went as far as calling the scene ‘amazeballs.’ Whatever that means.

The quiet suburb of Chamberlain, Maine is home to the deeply religious and conservative Margaret White and her daughter Carrie. Carrie is a sweet but meek outcast whom Margaret has sheltered from society. Gym teacher Miss Desjardin tries in vain to protect Carrie from local mean girls led by the popular and haughty Chris Hargenson, but only Chris’ best friend, Sue Snell, regrets their actions. In an effort to make amends, Sue asks her boyfriend, high school heartthrob Tommy Ross, to take Carrie to prom. Pushed to the limit by her peers at the dance, Carrie unleashes telekinetic havoc.

So there you have it folks. Regardless of my skepticism I’d say we can chalk this one up as some good news.

Along with Greer and Moretz the flick also stars Gabriella Wilde, Julianne Moore, Portia Doubleday and Ansel Elgort. CARRIE, which is currently filming, already has a release date of March 15, 2013 pegged to expect a lot more on this one as the months move on. Oh and that poster above is fan-made so let’s not get too excited.
