With the X-MEN 3 trailer getting me psyched up for the film’s release, it’s time to talk merchandise.
Diamond Select Toys, looking to out-do Sideshow and their version of Juggernaut, have released pictures of their own resin bust of the brother of Charles Xavier. Scuplted by Gentle Giant Design (ironic, considering the subject), the bust is taken from digital scan of Vinnie Jones (aka Juggernaut), and is limited to 5,000 pieces and features a hand-numbered X3 base with matching box and Certificate of Authenticity. The bust will set you back $50.00, and will be released near X-MEN 3’s May 26th theatre date. Along with Juggernaut, Diamond Select is also doing busts of Beast, Wolverine, Storm and Jean Grey aka Phoenix.
Personally, I like Sideshow’s version a bit more, but that one also has a Juggernaut on 50 cups of coffee after an all-nighter look to it. It’ll be interesting to see how Beast looks this time around compared to what Sideshow did. Click here to see Diamond Select’s page devoted to the mutant busts.
