Justin Timberlake goes up against Evil Ben Affleck in this first look at the Runner Runner trailer

I usually don't like to post trailers that have been crapped on by an Entertainment Tonight voice-over, but this is the only footage currently available for the upcoming thriller RUNNER RUNNER starring Ben Affleck and Justin Timberlake. Plus, unlike most ET exclusives, they show almost the entire trailer.

RUNNER RUNNER is Justin Timberlake's first starring role since the mediocre IN TIME in 2011. Since then, Timberlake has appeared in supporting roles in TROUBLE WITH THE CURVE and The Coen Brothers' INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIES later this year. RUNNER RUNNER is also notable for being Ben Affleck's first post-ARGO role and it seems to be against the type he has been playing. Affleck looks to be channeling his inner Bond villain and is poised to deliver one enjoyably over the top performance.

Check out the trailer for RUNNER RUNNER:

Timberlake plays an online gambler and Princeton student that bets big and loses his tuition money to someone who may or may not have been cheating him. A trip out of the country and to the source of his financial woes (Affleck) reveals an ugly world to online gambling that he never expected. The film comes courtesy of screenwriters Brian Koppelman and David Levien who wrote the Matt Damon/Ed Norton poker movie ROUNDERS. It was directed by Brad Furman who also turned in the suprisingly good THE LINCOLN LAWYER with Matthew McConaughey.

RUNNER RUNNER stars Timberlake, Affleck, Gemma Arterton, and Anthony Mackie. It opens in theaters on September 27, 2013.
