Who knew that in 2023, the kid from The Goonies and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom would steal the show at the Academy Awards? Ke Huy Quan had the biggest night of his career at the 95th Oscars and was the star (and sidekick) of two of the ceremony’s most emotional moments.

Starting off early with a Best Supporting Actor win for Everything Everywhere All at Once, Short Round would cap off his night with a reunion with Indiana Jones, as Harrison Ford was tasked with presenting Best Picture. After the top Oscar was announced, Ke Huy Quan took the stage and immediately hugged Ford, kissing him on the cheek and jumping up and down. You can watch the moment in the embedded video at the end of the article.

The scene was a perfect conclusion to the night, building wonderfully off of Ke Huy Quan’s Oscar speech, in which he referenced his journey. “My journey started on a boat…I spent a year in a refugee camp and somehow I ended up here on Hollywood’s biggest stage. They say stories like this only happen in the movies. I cannot believe it’s happening to me. This, this, is the American Dream…Dreams are something you have to believe in,” he said Sunday night. “I almost gave up on mine. To all of you out there, please keep your dreams alive. Thank you, thank you so much for welcoming me back. I love you. Thank you, thank you, thank you!”

This isn’t the first time as of late that Ke Huy Quan and Harrison Ford have met up, as they had a delightful reunion at last year’s D23 Expo. Unfortunately, we’ll likely never see the two share the screen again in character (although it does seem ripe for a Super Bowl commercial). However, if the opportunity for a Short Round movie ever arises, Ke Huy Quan is game, previously saying, “If Disney or Lucasfilm ever come to me and say, ‘We want to do a Short Round spin-off’, I’m there man! I love that character so much and it would just be incredible to revisit so many years later.”
