According to the boys over at B-D, casting for the upcoming sequel to THE TOOLBOX MURDERS (which we can only assume will be called THE TOOLBOX MURDERS 2) has landed a few, not only awesome but downright kick-ass, horror legends to star!
Writer / director Dean Jones has confirmed that Brain Krause, Jeffery Combs (!), Tony Todd (!), Lance Henrikson (!), and Red West are all attached to star in the flick! Are you freakin’ joking me??? That casting sounds too good to be true!
Beyond the film’s killer cast (and that’s only the beginning… there could be way more than that!) comes Jones’ description of what the sequel is going to look like… here’s just a taste:
This script is very powerful, provocative, and original and rises far above the last Toolbox. I work in a world where I create death on a daily basis and so with that in mind this script will have highest body count ever in the history of horror films. However, the story will not be gore for the sake of having gore…it has depth and style.
But if it did have gore for the sake of having gore, then that’d be OK too, right? Hell yeah it would! While I still haven’t caught Tobe Hooper’s TOOLBOX MURDERS (from 2003), mostly cause I heard it wasn’t very good, that doesn’t mean I’m not intrigued by its sequel. Just look at that cast again–Combs, Todd, Henrikson… shit son, that’s all you had to say!
