Killing It: Robin Thede of A Black Lady Sketch Show writing zombie comedy

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Comedian Robin Thede, creator and showrunner of the HBO series A Black Lady Sketch Show, is teaming up with Jax Media and Amazon Studios for a zombie action comedy called Killing It

Described as "Shaun of the Dead meets Girls Trip", Killing It will center on

a group of underachieving friends who live in Atlanta, which becomes overrun by zombies while the friends are taking part in Spelman College’s SpelHouse homecoming event, 10 years after they dropped out of the prestigious HBCU women’s school.

Thede is writing the screenplay and will be producing the film through her company For Better or Words. Jax's Media's Tony Hernandez, John Hodges, and Brooke Posch will also be producing.

I'm not familiar with Thede's work, but it seems to be very popular with comedy fans, so I look forward to seeing what she can do with a zombie story.
