Here’s a new possibly psychological scary flick I just heard about from director Jonathan Liebesman (who made the somewhat serviceable TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE-THE BEGINNING). It’s called THE KILLING ROOM and it actually was just admitted as a Sundance entry (though it’ll be out of competition). That at least must mean that the film bears some sort of significant clout. The plot does sound like an interesting time. Here, check it out:
Four individuals sign up for a psychological research study only to discover that they are now subjects of a brutal, classified government program.
Hmm… kind of has an X-FILES meets SAW vibe, I guess? Regardless, I’d like to see how brutal this program actually is. We’ve got two new photos from the flick. One’s up top, one’s below, and you can click here to check out two more. Something that you should notice right away is that ROOM is showcasing a pretty top-notch cast. Just take a look at its central players:
Nick Cannon, Clea DuVall, Timothy Hutton, Meade Patton, Peter Stormare and Chloë Sevigny. For our genre, that’s a pretty sweet list, which leads me to think that ROOM may be worth checking into. It was written by Gus Krieger and Ann Peacock. No word yet on an official release, but I’ll be keeping an eye out.
