King of Fighters flick

JoBloJoBlo

Although the movie based on the fighting videogame DOA: DEAD OR ALIVE still sits in a vault awaiting escape/release, another similar project is battling its way to theaters. A live-action flick based on the KING OF FIGHTERS series is preparing to smack flesh courtesy of Hong Kong action director Gordon Chan, perhaps best known for the Jet Li chopsockey gem FIST OF LEGEND.

I don’t think I’ve actually played KING OF FIGHTERS, but I’m sure it involves a gathering of diverse martial artists (including this popular buxom babe Mai Shiranui, and probably a bunch of dudes with tall hair and/or dubious fashion) as they attend some tournament that requires pounding each other into unrecognizable shapes. Whoo-pah!

The script comes from Chris Chow, who penned Jet Li’s FEARLESS. I’m sensing a Jet Li connection here… maybe this one’s got some potential?
