Kirsten Dunst and Ted Danson are hardly workin’ in the Fargo Season 2 promos

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

While True Detective may have been the more talked about show regarding investigators and criminals, Fargo proved to be every bit it’s competitor, sporting some great actors and arguably a more well-rounded story. Season 2 will travel back to 1979 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Luverne, Minnesota, where a young State Police Officer Lou Solverson (Patrick Wilson), recently back from Vietnam, investigates a case involving a local crime gang and a major Mob syndicate. Helping him piece things together is his father-in-law, Sheriff Hank Larsson (Ted Danson). The investigation will lead them to a colorful cast of characters that includes Karl Weathers (Nick Offerman), the town lawyer of Luverne, Minnesota as well as one of the starts of this first promo, Peggy Blomquist (Kirsten Dunst).

I didn’t think a TV spin-off of FARGO was really necessary in the slightest, but as we were proven, it turned out to be a fruitful affair. The supporting cast for Season 2 (including Ash himself, Bruce Campbell) looks to be a lot of fun, as they’ve certainly nailed the tone and look of this series. Here’s hoping Fargo has a stronger second season start than True Detective did.

True Detective: Season 2 will air in September on FX.
