Knox Goes Away: Michael Keaton to star in and direct a noir thriller written by Gregory Poirier

Knox Goes Away, Michael Keaton, noir

Michael Keaton is set to star in and direct Knox Goes Away, a noir thriller written by Gregory Poirier. Knox Goes Away is Keaton’s first directorial gig since 2008’s The Merry Gentlemen, in which Keaton starred alongside Kelly McDonald.

Knox Goes Away revolves around a contract killer who, after being diagnosed with a fast-moving form of dementia, is presented with the opportunity to redeem himself by saving the life of his estranged adult son. But to do so, he must race against the police closing in on him and the ticking clock of his own rapidly deteriorating mind.

Knox Goes Away is being produced by Brookstreet’s Trevor Matthews and Nick Gordon and Sugar23‘s Michael Sugar and Ashley Zalta. Carter Stanton will executive produce for Brookstreet and Jillian Kay for Sugar23. The film will be presented to potential buyers at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival Market.

Keaton is going back to his superhero roots as of late by playing Bruce Wayne/Batman for Batgirl and The Flash. He also reprised his role of Adrian Toomes for the recently-released – and immediately forgotten about – Morbius. Keaton also stars in the Hulu series Dopesick, which takes viewers into the epicenter of America’s struggle with opioid addiction, from the boardrooms of Purdue Pharma to a distressed Virginia mining community, to the hallways of the DEA.

It’s cool to know that Keaton plans on getting back behind the camera. We’ll bring you more details as Knox Goes Away continues to develop.
